This is the huge financial enterprise, around 80%-owned and controlled by Carlos Slim who - in 2010 - was named the world's richest man by Forbes magazine [BBC News 11 March 2010].
Based in Mexico, the Group controls a huge telecoms network, along with many other enterprises.
In January 2011, Slim "unbundled" Grupo Caroso's mining interests by launching a company known as Minera Frisco SAB, with a market capitalisation of around US$8.45 billion [MJ 16 March 2012].
Minera Frisco's main assets are in gold and silver, through the Mexican mines of Asientos, El Coronel, Minera San Franciso del Oro, San Filipe and 51%-owned Minera Tayahua and Minera Maria [MJ 14 January 2011].
Minera Frisco is also listed on the FTSE All World Index.
